They've been hauling around their Suzuki dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles in other people's pickup trucks for years. Not anymore. Starting a couple weeks ago, the 2 million U.S. owners of Suzuki's bikes, motorcycles and ATVs can get a Suzuki-branded pickup truck, too. The 2009 Suzuki Equator is a rebadged version of Nissan's long-running Frontier compact pickup truck. In fact, the Equator and Frontier are built at the same Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant.

The bare chassis of an old Gasser sits right inside the door. In the back of the shop on the chassis jig, welded metal tubing begins to resemble the frame of a front engine dragster, circa 1960. It didn't take long for the 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 to make an impact in the compact car market. During July, its first month of release, sales of the hatchback partner to the Aveo increased by nearly a thousand against the same time frame from last year. At first blush, the "whys?" are not hard to figure: The Aveo5 has EPA fuel ratings of 27 mpg/city and 34 mpg/highway and, if you didn't notice, gas prices have been rather high until just lately. Also, the Aveo5 is a true entry-level vehicle with a beginning price of $11,460.

David Lowry really never had much of a chance to be anything other than a drag racer. "It started with my grandfather, who was a drag racer, and it's progressed through my dad and now to me," the 31-year-old explained.

That's Keith Rose's description of the Ford Mustang, but his approach is quite different than many Mustang owners.
"Most people want the GT, with the 4.6-liter V-8. But for me, I found this V-6 and it fits right into what I want — something unique, but still quick," Rose said.
